Shumway Water Tower: Officially Retired

If you’ve never seen a water tower being taken down, today is the day!

This morning our old water tower in Shumway officially retired. We outgrew it back in 2009 which led to the construction of our new water tower, which has been operating since 2010. However, the old water tower, which was built in 1998, was still standing until today. It had a capacity of 50,000 gallons and we outgrew it very quickly in just 10 years. No worries - all of the material from this water tower will be repurposed!

Our “new” tower that was built in 2010-2011 has Shumway’s name on it, in honor of the community it is in. This water tower serves all of the West side of our system and has a capacity of 500,000 gallons!
